Prefer named users

Where a platform supports it, add a separate user with the minimum role required instead of sharing your primary login.

Use temporary access

Remove or reduce access when the job is complete. Time-limited credentials are ideal when the platform supports them.

Use MFA

Keep multi-factor authentication enabled on business-critical accounts and do not disable it merely to make contractor access easier.

Document ownership

The business should retain ownership of its domain, hosting, repository, analytics and major platform accounts.
